This article series demystifies one of the fundamental aspects of Polarity Therapy: the five elements derived from Ayurvedic medicine.
These elements are dynamic flows that circulate within the body, each predominating in its own sphere of physiological and psychological activity.
The Water element prompts us to feel and invites us to experience intuitive depth. It is a call to let go of what no longer serves us. The main challenge of the Water element is attachment and detachment.
The Water element is associated with the sacral chakra; its color is orange. The finger of the hand associated with Water is the ring finger, and its corresponding toe is the 4th toe.
Water is connected to family and nourishment, both in balance and imbalance. It provides access to the imaginary world, mysticism, intuition, and dreams. It helps us to look inward and develop our resilience.
The Water element is located at the chest level, including the breasts and the shoulder girdle, and is connected to family, the nurturing aspect, and Acceptance.
At the level of the pelvis, glutes, genitals, and bladder, it represents everything related to sexuality, procreation, and death. The Water Element is also located in the feet, corresponding to the collective unconscious, dependence, imagination, and self-sacrifice.
In disharmony, the sensations experienced will be anxiety, jealousy, possessiveness, eating and sexual disorders, suicidal thoughts, relational difficulties specifically with the mother, shame, and not allowing oneself the right to exist.
In balance, water will express itself through developed intuition, sensitivity, empathy, maternal Love, sensitivity, and receptivity.
During the consultation interview, the Polarity Therapist takes into account the symptoms and discomforts reported in order to select the most appropriate session, based on the elements that need to be rebalanced.
