This article series demystifies one of the fundamental aspects of Polarity Therapy: the five elements derived from Ayurvedic medicine.
These elements are dynamic flows that circulate within the body, each predominating in its own sphere of physiological and psychological activity.
The Fire element is defined by “I create, I act, and I integrate,” inviting us to confidence.
Fire purifies and transforms. It is associated with the solar plexus chakra and the pancreas. It is represented by the color yellow. Conscious emotions related to Fire include anger, frustration, bitterness, letting go, and forgiveness.
In polarity therapy, Fire is associated with the middle finger, the 3rd toe, and 3 areas: the head, the digestive system, and the thighs. It is also connected to the organs: stomach, liver, gallbladder, small intestine, and spleen.
The qualities of the Fire element are manifested through passion, assertiveness, quick-wittedness, and creativity. In balance, the Fire energy is expressed through self-esteem, radiance, creativity, action, confidence, a desire to play, and the feeling of being in one’s power.
Signs of a Fire imbalance notably include inflammation, migraines, insomnia (mental rumination), aggressiveness, arrogance, and feelings of guilt.
During the consultation interview, the Polarity Therapist takes into account the symptoms and discomforts reported in order to select the most appropriate session, based on the elements that need to be rebalanced.
