This article series demystifies one of the fundamental aspects of Polarity Therapy: the five elements derived from Ayurvedic medicine.
These elements are dynamic flows that circulate within the body, each predominating in its own sphere of physiological and psychological activity.
The Ether element cannot be seen, felt, touched, or tasted; it can only be recognized by its inner emptiness. From emptiness, everything is possible; it is the field of possibilities.
Ether exists as a gas. It promotes balance between sadness and deep joy. It allows one to connect with their inner space and to gain physical, emotional, and mental distance.
The thumb and big toe are the energetic zones connected to Ether. In polarity, an Ether session is performed through subtle touch. This session is recommended for overcoming trauma.
It is also the expression of one’s Self-awareness and conscious emotions. This creates space to gain perspective, much like a journey.
Physically, the Ether element is found in the throat (thyroid), ears, joints, as well as mucus and saliva.
Examples of imbalances associated with Ether include: tinnitus, spatial coordination problems, fungal infections, joint and thyroid problems, and all hair-related problems or hair loss. It is associated with the throat chakra.

Ether is the Great Whole, universal Love. It is also associated with the present moment, the here and now, meditation, and silence.
During the consultation interview, the Polarity Therapist takes into account the symptoms and discomforts reported in order to select the most appropriate session, based on the elements that need to be rebalanced.
